Finland glanced up from his cleaning and smiled gratefully, stepping back and taking off his gloves and disposing of them before walking over.
"Thank you Spain!" He chirped, happy to be pulled away from his work a moment. He would have to check on the plates later. The food in front of him looked wonderful, and he wasn't sure how someone could make what little they had look so enticing.
"Want to take a snack break with me?" He asked. Being the only lab scientist got to be a lonely job sometimes.

"Of course!" Grateful that he could also get a break (being the only groundskeeper was pretty tiring), Spain slipped into the seat next to Finland and picked up an apple slice. "How's the research coming?"

When he bit into the fresh sliced fruit it gushed, and he chewed quickly before responding.
"It's going to be far smoother now that I have some potential specimens. You see, if I can figure out what these little fuckers do when they get into the body, or a host cell if they're a virus, there's a number of different things that I can do to them... I'm no miracle worker, but any respectable microbiologist can make a vaccine." He explained with barely a sliver of a smile.

He heard the magical word "vaccine" and shot up in his chair, nearly knocking it over in the process. "Really? Fantástico! You're a genius, Finlandia!"

A blush made it's way across his cheeks and he smiled, and as much as he wished that he shared the same happiness he felt obligated to warn the other of his own uncertainty.
"In theory, I should be able too. Your immune system will make antibodies against any pathogenic substance that it has came in contact with, alive or dead, and if I kill the little buggers we may just have our vaccine. However, there's a lot of things that would need to be done. I would need to test, retest, check for side effects... And even then there's a chance of mutation. So it's iffy... But maybe. Just maybe I can do something right enough to make it work."
He prayed that he would for everyone there.
[[Iggy's notes: I like where you're going, Finny, but you can't make vaccines on your own <3 All the vaccines that will be available in this AU will be acquired with missions. Where you can take this, though, is missing some information, which is later sent by European scientists, which Iggy gets in a letter and announces during the current mission. That way, you'll tie up one RP to another coherently C: Just an idea, though~]]
