Italy returned the smile, taking a sip of his tea. "Ooh, Spain, this is great tea!" He soaked in the warmth, loving how it felt on his throat. "Oh, um... Have you heard from any of the other countries? Like, how they're doing? Who's alive?"

Spain would have responded with a humble thank you, but his eyes widened when Italy asked who was alive.
Alive.
He hadn't thought about dying, nor did he wish it upon anyone, but asking who was alive... it hurt. It was like he expected people to be dead.
Cold, dead and never moving again.
He had completely forgotten that they weren't invincible anymore, they were just the same as any human out there.
They could die.
"W-Well..." The usually optimistic nation stammered, trying to retain his composure. He couldn't break down in front of Italy; that would only lead to bad things. And even though he thought that, he couldn't stop himself from shedding one tear.
But only one.
"Everyone's still alive." To my knowledge. He shakily smiled, wiping the tear away quickly with the back of his hand, like he was rubbing dirt from his eye. "And I haven't heard from anyone that isn't already here or hasn't contacted us. So if you're looking for someone specific, I could probably help. I'm pretty much everyone's niñera here, and tend to know exactly where everyone is at any given time."
((Note: "niñera" means babysitter. XD))

"Well..." Italy stuck a finger in his tea cup and slowly stirred it, avoiding eye contact. "I asked about Germany and Romano already." He stopped stirring, pulling his finger out and licking it before any liquid could drop. "What about Japan?"
He didn't notice Spain's near break down, as he had been too busy enjoying the tea. But, he did notice the tear. For the moment- until his question was answered, at least- he chose to say nothing about it.

Mentioning Japan was wonderful to Spain. It was the best thing he could hear. After all, it was easier to talk about something he knew was a good topic.
"Japan is here~ He's probably working in the lab right now or resting; he doesn't have the energy like most of us nations do, so when it's a rainy day, he tends to head up to his bunk and relax.
Anyone else you want to look for?"

Italy grinned at that. At least Japan was here. Japan had always been so nice to Italy, always comforting the small country. Italy knew how interested Japan was in Italian culture- after all, who wasn't? Japan didn't yell at him as much as Germany did, either, and was always game for anything.
"Um... How about you just tell me who else is here?" Italy requested with another smile. Spain looked happier, which made Italy happier as well.

Well, this should be interesting.
"Sure~! Let's see. There's...." Spain took a few seconds to run through the list of everyone currently at the warehouse and took a deep breath. "Japan, Canada, America, England, You, Russia, Denmark, Norway, Myself, Iceland, Austria, Prussia, South Korea, Argentina, Lithuania, mi hermana Portugal should be here soon, France is somewhere, Molossia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Romania, Seychelles and of course Landy~"
He drew another breath (as he said their names rather quickly and in only one breath) and looked to the Italian. "I think I covered everyone~ We have had a guest already - but he got sent back to Europe. He was America's son I think, or something along those lines. And a few nations got sent back to deal with some personal business. So some others came and went, but I'm sure they'll be back soon~"

Italy set down his now empty cup. He really wish Germany were here.
"America's son?" Italy's head snapped up. "Ve~ With who?" Italy snickered. "England?"
(sorry, its incredibly short. =()

((It's cool. Our thread relies a lot on dialogue, so we're gonna have short posts. ^^))
Spain had to think about that for a minute. "I think so. The micronation - Eastport's his name - called America 'Dad' and England 'Mom' so I'm going with yes. He actually looks a lot like both of them."
Suddenly, a thought struck him. "Ah! That's right! I forgot! Alemania - Germany - is here as well! He's usually away on his own, so I don't see him all that much."
