America swallowed nervously, wanting nothing more than to finish off his candy bar, but really not looking forward to the extra weight that would come with consuming the chocolate. I could work it all off after the wedding, though! But...I have been working out, and...and apparently I'm just getting fatter. He really didn't know what to do. Chocolate or weight, chocolate or weight? Well, he obviously wasn't impressing anyone with his love of food. So...
With heaviness in his heart, he pulled the wrapper over his bar and stuffed it away in his pocket, refusing to look over at England. "I-I'm just saving it," he grumbled. "For later."

And England had to admit he was impressed by America's self-control. Or whatever it was that made him put the chocolate bar away.
"Good choice, lad." he smiled encouragingly at him, noticing how he looked a bit more subdued now. "Don't look so glum, now." he took a step forward and clapped America on the shoulder. "It's for the best. Like you said, you'll have some later. Try to make it last and draw the pleasure out. Everything you're going to have and everything you're going to love during your life is going to be worth the time. Take a bite. Close your eyes. Enjoy it. Because nothing is going to last forever."
Somewhere deep inside, something stirred and screamed that it wasn't just about the chocolate bar anymore.

America supposed England was right, to some extent, but he really felt horrible putting the chocolate away. He loved food, and he especially loved chocolate. "Yeah, I guess." He tried cheering himself up by thinking about the reception. There would be even more food, and the added bonus of wedding cake, so maybe he could afford to wait an hour or two. Besides, he was still scared of gaining weight from the candy bar.
And this left a new problem in his head- what if he grew fat from the reception food? Could he trust it enough to eat it? He didn't want to skip out on that, but it didn't look as if England was impressed with his body, what with the pudge on his stomach. And that pudge would grow if he ate more.
Feeling a little more than childish and foolish and overall embarrassed, he cleared his throat. "Uh...just out of a little curiosity, how many more pounds would I gain if I ate food at the reception?" He tried not sounding too concerned, he tried making his voice light and happy, but he was still a bit worried.

England blinked at him, surprised, but got up on the tip of his toes to ruffle his hair anyways.
"You're still such a child." he mumbled, trying not to let fondness seep into his tone. "If you ate reasonably, and not more than your stomach can take, you'll burn off the calories by simply breathing and functioning as a living being. It's when you start eating more than you should, or food that has lots of sugar in it that you gain weight." he explained, pleased that America was listening to him for once. Or so he hoped. "The reception food is top quality. You'll be fine if you don't stuff yourself to the point of resembling like some kind of human bowling ball."

"So, as long as I eat as much as my stomach can hold and then work it all off afterwards?" America didn't really mind that idea. His stomach was pretty large, and he could eat much more than your average human (or nation, for that matter). So, if he ate until he was full and then went for a jog later on, he'd probably be fine. He could eat and eat and not gain a pound today! Plus, it was top quality food, which made everything better.
Well, at least he hoped it would make everything better. As much as he hated admitting it, England's opinion mattered to him, and he didn't want to screw up and look at England's disappointed gaze. "W-Will you get mad if I stuff my face, though?"
Ah, shit. Now he was asking permission to eat. If England didn't think his other questions suspicious, this one would get his attention for sure. "I meant, will you bitch at me if I look like a pig?"

England blinked, somewhat surprised at the questions, and raised a brow suspiciously.
"Since when do you care what I have to say about anything? Half the time, you don't listen, and the other half, you don't care." he glared at him reproachfully. "I mean, it's your body, it's your life. Eat if you will, but don't overdo it." he massaged his forehead tiredly. "And please. Instead of asking me if I'll be mad at you for eating like a slob, why don't you make effort not to look like one in the first place?" Sometimes, he really wondered if America had some kind of logic driving his actions. Probably not.
But then again, that's why he was there, right? To correct him and argue with him and help him with everything he may or may not need help with? That was his alibi to be close and keep contact with America.
Although sometimes, he really did wish he didn't need an alibi.

That certainly didn't help much. But what was he supposed to say? Will you still talk to me even if I grow fat and ugly? Will you still like me? Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. America couldn't very well tell England just how much his opinion mattered to him, otherwise he might start trying to pry deeper into America's feelings. Still, America wanted to know how much he could eat before England would start to hate him.
Maybe as long as he ate politely and like a refined gentleman, everything would be okay. "I...I was just thinking that...if I got fat, do you think people would still respect me?" The word 'still' might have been a bit off, for America wasn't sure whether or not people respected him as is.
The word 'people' was also far off. It should have been replaced with 'you', because America just wanted to know if England would still respect him.

Even more surprised by the questions he was being asked all of a sudden, England blinked in confusion a bit, and then rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Well... To avoid thinking of that, try to avoid getting fat in the first place..." Although that didn't exactly reply to America's inquiry... "I... I mean, most nations are mature enough not to judge on appearances, and respect can be commanded with your attitude, not your looks." Ah, how to explain the fact that he would always respect him without sounding so awkward?
Because England didn't mind. Whether he weighed 60 or 160 kilograms, America would still be the same inside.
And alright, perhaps he would push him to exercise until he lost all the extra weight, but it was only because England didn't want immature people to make fun of his America.

This seemed reasonable enough to America. The nations might not care if he got fat- he could still kick their ass, and they knew better than to mess with him in anyway. Was England one of those nations, though? Would England still respect him, no matter what? America sure as hell wasn't going to ask that sort of question. He just wished he could read England's mind to find out.
"I guess I'll eat as much as I normally do," he decided, glancing up at the ceiling. "Maybe a little less, but, I mean, it's a wedding, right? Wedding's have awesome food." Yes, those cakes were delicious. He wondered what other sorts of snacks they would have. Perhaps he'd pay a quick stop to those vegetables, just to show the world (England) that he could eat healthy.
"Then, I'll work out. That way, I won't get fat!" There. Seemed simple enough. Happy with his conclusion, America beamed over at England. "And, like you said, everyone will still respect me!"
Even if they mocked him for eating and getting chubby and having pudge (he really wanted to check if that was true, he really, truly did), at least they would still hold a bit of respect for him.

China turned, his attire not typical to what someone would think of when his five letter name was mentioned. The only silk was a band tied at the nape of his neck and threading on his sharp shoulder. He wore no long gowns of seamless formality but his ora was still his own although here, it was diminished.
"It's very ... Western," he said curved eyes locked on the ceiling frescos (something with demons prodding grotesquely grimacing faced men and woman into pits of fire) for a brief second before smiling happily to Spain to brake the tension that comment must have caused, "it's very beautiful but so unfamiliar, aru. Exotic to me."
His hands rested on his lap, looking ahead.
"It does bring back memories, but they're of something long gone, aru. No need to bring it up again. I ... respect Christianity, aru." He forced out.

[[Don't worry about it, I actually kinda forgot about it for a while. XD Iggy and Meri were having too much fun~]]
"I can imagine." Spain agreed with a semi-lopsided smile back, even he wasn't quite sure what the chapel makers were thinking with the frescos. His were normally saints and depictions of heaven, not hell. He wasn't a fan of these. "Not exactly the design I would have chosen, but at least the ceremony isn't going to be held here - Gracias a Dios."
He began taking a seat in the weathered pews and motioned for China to join him. "If you don't want to talk about it, that's alright by me." He noticed how forced the last part sounded and did his best to alleviate the slight tension. "Still, I'm glad you could come. It means a lot."

[[I really do hate this post, but I wrote something better and the internet and computer soon after crashed on me. Estupendo. :/))
China knelt in the pews with him, he had a feeling it was hard to be cold to someone like Spain. He clasped his hands together like he'd seen done a thousand times yet he could utter no prayer for it.
It was really just difficult for him to speak about his personal life and he'd only opened up to the world in 2008. Spain no doubt had hearty memories tucked away from those Olympics, his sun kissed soul would have something ingrained for it. Right? That was the new beginning.
"My government likes Christianity because it can generally coincide smoothly with socialist ideals," he admitted sheepishly rubbing a hand on the back of his neck, with hints of his real patriot thoughts shinning in amber eyes, "It keeps people under control but ever since religion was disbanded and re-sanctioned some people continue their underground parishes out of the able gaze of my government, aru. Usually priests need to sign in to receive permission but not everyone does... We will have to work harder."
So he was thinking of work, was that it? In truth, it really wasn't. China's inner thoughts were only somewhat skimming the top of that idea.
There was so much to think about and no filter.
Do you mention the craziness at the back of the church or bring up the cheery topic of killing catholics in Peking?
The Church wasn't all that current and he felt his body being swept away to the century of its birth, as cheesy as that sounded.
It made him feel like sucking his thumb and cursing the Barbarians whom kept taking advantage of him on his shores, like turning into a baby after reaching adulthood (extreme mid-life crisis, anyone?). Barbarians equal those unlike him. It felt embarrassing now days but effectively things change.
Finally, "The paintings? What no, don't worry, they don't scare me," he assured with a warm smile that reached his eyes after that thread convoluted thinking, "no, they're really carefully painted, aru. There's allot of effort put into it and it kind of reminds me of the Dongyue Temple," he explained, "the, en, Dante's Inferno of Taoism, aru."
He went on to explain the statues and how each sin was represented by whip-lashing the sinner.
Finally after a fair while, falling silent again.
"Wah, this is awkward, aru." >.<
((Seriously, in a church? Come on.))

Spain was - at first - a little bit embarrassed at bringing up politics in a church, but he enjoyed seeing how China was eagerly talking about himself. Even though hearing that the Church was forced underground caused an unfamiliar note in his heart of worry, he swiftly silenced it with the knowledge that it would never fully die.
What really made him glad was when he was talking about his Temple. They had only recently became closer, so he didn't really know much about the mysterious nation. At least religion was one topic they could talk about.
Until it became silent and China mentioned it being awkward.
Spain just shook his head and leaned back, closing his green eyes. "Far from it. I thought that it was a comfortable silence." He opened one and looked at the Asian man. "I might talk a lot, but even I know how to enjoy silence."
A glimmer of worry sparked in his open eye, but he shut it again so he wouldn't be pried open for an answer. "Besides, it helps me try and relax, y'know?"

Somewhere behind them the organ started to flute a morbid song in minor key.
Yao didn't seem to enjoy it as much as the paintings. He shrunk into himself meekly shuddering and peaked beside him to ask if this was normal.
Upon sight, China nearly asked the obvious question. What was the conjecture of Spain's wows when he was the nation of passion and could relax regardless? The question did not come.
"I received the invitation from a country but I ... don't even know who'd getting married, aru. There was no address, only a stamp for proof, aru!"

((Why.... I never post... This is what I get.... Posting in.... 3..... 2...... 1.....))
Romano, after spacing out with his mouth open, began to come to his senses. What was he doing??!?! Norway went off somewhere.... He thought he hears stuff earlier... Oh well.....
Romano paced for a minute, thinking. OK, not thinking, but just to get out the knots in his legs from just standing there..... For a long time....
He wondered what they others were doing. 'Yo Mom!' The hell. Was his thoughts. Thinking. That was a joke for Americans! Really..... He had to root for a better thought system..... He started to let his mind wander.... Again..... For no reason..... He wished somebody, ANYBODY, would talk to him....
