The world
The countries and borders have remained unchanged since the 21st century. Asia has become the new centre of the world. Europe has become the new slums of the world, just one big shelter for everybody running from the zombie apocalypse. Overpopulated, unsanitary and littered with poverty and violence, having been unable to take care of the massive migration out of North America.
Any territory below the Mexican border with America has now been sealed off, protected from the zombies as well as the rest of the world. South America has become isolationist. North America is completely overrun by zombies.
The last stronghold on the entire continent is the Nations' warehouse.
The Warehouse (outside)
A large building, rectangular with a flat roof and many windows that make it look like it has more than just its 2 floors. It looks halfway abandoned. Tall barbed wire fences surround it and crates and barrels litter the outside perimeter.
Solar panels have been set on the roof, next to the greenhouse. Chimneys have been altered to redirect smoke from machines and fireplaces towards the forest, and not above the warehouse.
There is an adjacent, open-roofed shooting range, and a small courtyard that is mostly all asphalt, with minimal patches of grass.
The Warehouse (inside) General Layout
1st floor: Common room upon entry, where there are couches, seats, a television, board and card games, and exercise mats available during free time.
The kitchen is through adjacent door on the left, hospital wing blocked off by crates and room dividers, and quarantine area access is possible through the hospital wing.
The ceiling is extremely high, over 70 feet, and ladders run up on each of the 4 cardinal points in the room to wooden platforms, about 10 feet large and about 40 feet off the ground, where the bunk beds are located. There is a row of glass windows that cannot be opened around level of the top bunks, and the glass windows circle the entire room. Blackout curtains have been installed and must be pulled immediately when a Blackout Manoeuvre is declared.
Poles also run from the ceiling to the ground so that the nations can get down quickly in case of immediate mobilization. The staircase to the second floor (the experiment lab) is on the right upon entry in the warehouse.
2nd floor: The development lab. Rows and rows of tables are set here, vials, experimental equipment, papers and instruments scattered upon them. Constantly smells like chemicals. The ceiling is low, compared to the main room, about 15 feet high.
Lab coats and protective glasses are imperative when working in the lab. A door on the right leads to the storage area, where test subjects, failed experiments and material are kept.
Parenthesis on technology: Like medical equipment, the lab is equipped with old technology from the 21st century, scavenged from top secret North American labs after the apocalypse hit. Basic lab instruments, as well as machines can be found in it. They were unable to get anything high-tech to their warehouse, though.
SKETCH of the warehouse upon entry (Perspective? What is that? I dunno what that is.)
The kitchen
An old stove-top oven, a refrigerator and ice box, 2 large sinks and a purified water tap. Cupboards line the walls, some with dry foods, another with canned food, a few with plates, bowls, cups, pots and pans, and another with towels and cookbooks.
There is a counter in the middle, build with wood. The drawers under it contain utensils, cooking tools, and cleaning products of every kind.
The floors are white tiles, the walls painted white, too. It used to be a ventilated storage area before the nations transformed it into a kitchen.
Hospital Wing
Blocked off from the main room by crates and boxes, and with a cloth flap covering the entrance, the clinic and the ICU can be found within the set perimeter of the hospital wing. Through the door in the back, there is the surgery room and the quarantine area.
The quarantine area is simply a series of small linked rooms where there is a mattress and a small window. The doors are steel and bolted shut, just in case the Nation inside becomes a zombie. The quarantine area is under surveillance 24/7 by the medics.
Parenthesis on technology: The Nations were unable to get state-of-the-art medical technology, due to the lack of resources in the ravaged world, so the technology at their disposition is mainly the same as what they had back in the 21st century.
Common Area
With a TV up against one wall and a fireplace against the other, lots of sofas, bean bags and chairs are set here, where the Nations hang out when they are off-duty. Games and entertainment are provided here, and most of the time, Nations eat there, due to the lack of a proper dining room.
There is also a corner where exercise mats and dumbbells are provided, for staying in shape is one of the most important things to consider when fighting through a zombie apocalypse.
Meeting Room
A small, rectangular room with a large wooden table and chairs around it. A computer is kept in there, plus a chalkboard and a whiteboard. A bunch of flip-chart papers are also set in the corner.
A map of the region is tacked on the wall, along with a large map of North America, and another map of Canada's old capital is tacked next to it. On the maps are pins, different colours to indicate zombie movements, backup plans to outbreaks, and more information on the surrounding areas.
The Old Capital
Once so tall and proud, Canada's old capital has now fallen into literal ruins. Buildings have toppled, crushing houses and objects and blocking off a lot of roads. The roads twist and turn, and whoever doesn't have extensive knowledge prior to visiting it will get lost.
Zombies prowl the streets restlessly, lost themselves in the labyrinth of the city, and anyone that is spotted has meek chances of escaping the zombies' sight.
