"Hm." Norway thought for a long while. How would someone best plan an attack? That question made him think. "I...I guess..." Norway started. He really had no idea how he would explain that right. Was there even a way to explain it? "I...I guess...think of it as war." He finally said after long moments of thinking on the subject. "Like...um...let me think for a second or two..." He said thinking.
"W-well, when you're at war, you want the best stradigy against your opponent correct? So, the best way is to do this is attack the most vital places like cargo and planning areas. Well I think when you fight, its the same thing. Execpt you attack the body's weak points of your opponint...as in you get the places that are vital and attack them. I think what I'm saying is that you think of it as war, and the body of your opponint is the battle field. Does that make any sence?" Norway asked and explained. He was worried that this didnt make any sence. This was his first time teaching someone the basics of swords fighting.

Oh. Well, that was easier than America would thought it would be. When fighting with guns, one would try their best to aim at the vital points on the other's body. Even fighting with fists, hits to certain parts were much more effective than hits to other parts. "I think I got that," he said, nodding his head slowly. "When fighting with just your bare hands, you try hitting certain parts of someone else's body. Like...the throat, for example, and if it's a serious fight, you aim for their eyes."
But what would that be to swords? Surely you wouldn't aim for eyes. Possibly throats, yes, and, for zombies, the head, but America wanted to be a swords master, not just handy when it came to zombies. "So...would I aim for, like, important blood vessels or something?"

"Yes!" Noway said happily and quietly thanking any higher being that was up there that some of his rambling had some good information. "Like here." he said pointing to his side that was his kidney. "If you can get to here, that would mean you got the kidney which is a vital organ that not many people protect. The lungs and the heart are good ones to, but those are very well protected so its rare to get a clean cut to them. Also, if you are at someone from behind, a good spot is the bck of the neck. Thats were the nerves are and if you can sever at least some of those, your opponent will gain some serious damage if they servive."

America nodded, soaking up all the information that he was gathering from this little lesson. He knew it would be useful, especially if he needed to ever fight with a sword. Of course, it probably wouldn't work for zombies, but it never hurt to be too knowledgeable, did it? Anyway, he was ready to win, and to win, he could totally use these new moves.
"So, I also gotta protect these spots, right?" He grinned, pleased that he was able to pick so much of this up so well. "Like, even when aiming for their weak spots, I gotta protect my own."

"Yes." Norway said relived. America seemed like a idiot sometimes, but he guessed when it came to this kinda stuff like fighting and wars he must have been very quick learner. "You have to think two steps ahead of your oponent. Its always the best thing." Norway said all of this while smiling.

Ah. 'Thinking two steps ahead'. Contrary to rumor, America was actually quite smart. Well...okay, maybe not as smart as some of the other nations, but he still considered himself to be a very intelligent country. During battles, though, he went by instinct alone. He would mindlessly charge into a situation, certain that his strength would make a dent on his opponents. That usually worked with hand-to-hand combat or guns, but swords were a different matter. How could he protect his vital points while aiming for the other's vital points.
Rather than mention that he might not be able to do this properly, rather than give up his pride (even more so than he already had), America grinned. "I think I got it!" he exclaimed. Not.

Norway smiled and put himself in a battle stance. "If you think you have it, then lets go to a battle now then. Are you ready?" He asked with a little arrogance edging in his voice. He really wanted to put America to his limits and see what he could really do. That's what would train America for the tornement and thats what would make him stronger then he already was.

As he watched Norway take a battle position, America quickly went through what he knew- aim for the extremities, protect your own. It should be simple enough. All he had to do was watch Norway's sword, make sure it stayed a good distance away from his vital points. Though Norway said that a strategy was good, and though Norway was probably expecting him to do this, America felt as if he should still charge with all his strength. He was certain it was possible for him to dodge attacks while still hacking away at Norway's sword. He could do this.
"Ready," he stated and, without waiting for a reply, ran forward as quick as he could and thrusting his sword forward with all his might, aiming for the chest.

Norway smiled and crouched down on his knees, covered his head, and felt America trip over his back. That was a move that he haden't used in hundreads and hundreads of years. It was effective if you were against a taller oponent. "Another thing to remeber. Be unpredictable." Norway said as he stood up and took battle stance again.

America had to say, that was a pretty stupid move on his part and a pretty clever mood on Norway's part. Not that he was going to admit it. Even if he wanted to tell that to his sparring partner, though, the breath was knocked out of him due to the way he landed. Right on his back. Lovely. He hadn't known Norway had this in him. He's a monster out here with a sword. I always thought he was kinda a wuss. Well, it just proved the point that you couldn't judge a book by it's cover.
With a grunt, America quickly pulled himself to his feet, ignoring the pain in his back. He was probably bruised, but so long as it wasn't too serious, he could still fight. Maybe Norway had been correct about the whole strategy thing after all.
Gripping his sword tightly, America came forward again, aiming a tad bit higher this time, just below the collarbone and praying that he could at least hit Norway's sword if nothing else.

Norway smirked just a little and he put the sword in the way of America's aim. He took a few steps and tried to move the both of them. 'Lets see if he remeberes.' Norway thought to himself hoping that the taller country remebered some of Norway's rambeling.

America was overly grateful that Norway didn't pull another one of those crazy stunts, overly grateful that he finally got the chance to prove himself. He pushed down hard on Norway's sword, testing the smaller man and trying desperately to put most of the emphasis on the upper part of Norway's body. After a few seconds of struggling with the sword, America decided to be spontaneous and prove to Norway that he was awesome and could do whatever he wanted.
As quickly as possible, America suddenly kicked out at Norway with his left foot, hitting the older country's shins dead-on.

Norway felt his upper body tence and his arms slack. He had been in this situation before with denmark, but his arms had never felt like this before.America's streangth felt super natural. Then. he felt America slacked a bit and felt a hard impact on his shins. Norway felt himself fall onto his knees in pain. But he was happy. Happy that the American had put something he said to good use.
Norway thought for a second on what to do next. He was vulnerable. His eyes darted everywere and he tried coming up with a solution. Then it hit him. He may have not been strong, but he knew he could at least make America lose his balance. He launched himself to the American's legs and he placed his head between the American's shins and grabbed the shins and pushed the American to the ground.

Once America saw his plan had worked, that he had knocked Norway over, he was quite ready to make the Nordic nation surrender. He was already planning to wave his sword in Norway's face and narrow his eyes with a shit-eating grin on his face and loudly exclaim, "Got ya." It didn't happen, though, for just as he was about to preform such a spectacular movement as the one he imagined in his head, Norway suddenly grabbed his legs and pushed him to the ground. For the second (or third, he was losing track) time that day, America felt the wind get knocked out of him.
He didn't want to lose. he hadn't yet surrendered, so he knew there was still a chance. Abandoning his sword, America grabbed Norway and rolled over so that he was on top, pinning him down. "Ha!" he panted, allowing himself to grin. He didn't know if he truly won, having resorted to simple hand-to-hand combat rather than swords, but it was close enough in his mind.

Norway froze...America was on top of him...he had been in this position before...only once....and that was with Prussia...he didnt know what to do. He could threaten to kick America's 'junk' but that would be a bad learning experence, he knew what would happen after he did that, and he would be a bad teacher for doing it. But Norway really didnt wanna lose this fight! Gr! He didnt know what to do! He gulped and moved shifted uncomfortably. "U-uh...uh..." he started saying.
He finally made up his mind. He was going through with the plan. He lifted his foot near America's crotch and said, "I...I dont wanna do it. But if you dont surrender and call this match. I will!"
