Nein! Le fantabulous tranquilizer infused with zombie-poison! Or maybe something that makes them go ballistic and start killing each other

Oh, that idea could work too. Still, I like the idea of poison better. What about go-mad-then-kill-each-other-and-commit-suicide-poison?

YES! It would work sooooo, efficently too. Meaning, one person can shot one Zombie, and BOMB, they're all killing each other. Unless they attack us, which would be bad.

It is fantastic, we just need to get this into action. Real plans, I think we should have a workshop once we get at least twenty ideas.

Hmm...I only read part of this, but the part about the 'going mad and killing each other' would involve them to have conscious thought...which the zombies don't have x.x
Since they are even more basic than a primitive human...we'd have to just destroy them. *le sobs at saying something all critical right off* x.x

The brain is a highly complex thing, and yes, the thread does say they run on instinct.
Basically, whatever living things have, a theory could be drawn that only living flesh produce the leptin ('full-feeling') chemical the zombies need to well, stop feeding for a time. (However, all living things possibly possess this in their genes, so it has to be more complex than that)
It can also be said that to some extent, zombies must have the capability to 'learn', since they can distinguish a human from an animal, which is not entirely instinctual.
However, 'going mad' is usually 'losing reason', which the zombies don't have very much of (if any at all) to begin with. What little 'reason' they have is lost whenever a human being is present, where they promptly 'go mad' and try to bite the person.
Zombies also don't like each other very much, which is why they don't just eat each other when living, human flesh isn't available, so it's unlikely they will suddenly kill each other. Also, we'd have to have a stimulant to FORCE them to kill each other, which is too chemically complex to make with 19th century technologies. They'd have to not see 'dislike' in the same way, which would mean 'learning' something other than instinct, which would take a lot more resources than just torching them.
I think zombies don't like each other for the same reason (most) people don't eat each other (except in some cases...or extreme ones). Then it's a conscious choice to do so, and it goes against our instincts as well. Imagine if someone told you "Oh by the way, your only source of food from now on is going to be your friend." At first you resist, because really why would you kill your friend. Then you reason that there's got to be other food...you can wait...etc. If the situation becomes desperate, and because you are consciously thinking why you are so hungry and that your friend is starting to look good no don't yes maybe...reasoning with yourself, you eventually are faced with a crossroads in which you must choose whether to do it or not. Instinct would tell you no until you were too hungry to NOT do it. Zombies don't get that 'until you're too hungry to eat each other' thing. They'll just keep searching for living humans...and then rot away if we're all gone. XD
*crawls off soap box* JAPAN SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT LOGICAL REASONINGS AT NEARLY 2AM! x.x

O.O So. Much. Text. O.O
Maybe some kind of stimulant, then? That does someone....or something that makes them have a craving for grass instead of humans xD

We'd ahve to basically reiwire their entire 'instinctual' way of thinking...x.x
I think it boils down to whether we all believe the zombies should be 'eliminated' or 'cured'. If you go with the former, then methods of eradication are what we need to come up with. If you go with the latter, then we need to focus on the transmission of the zombification (is that even a word? Spellcheck says no x.x) and the like.
*hides behind South K* my morning logic...looks horrible x.x

Is it even possible to cure them...? Maybe we should just fill bullets with acid and melt them from the inside out...*mind of a sadist*
xD It's only 9:00 here, so more morning logic over here XD

Eh, some people's character morals might make them want to 'save' them (wasn't thinking of anyone specific...*shot*) since they were at one time human and living...but I know from my character's POV they should just be eliminated. XD
*hasn't totally given this way too much thought before slapping up that application* >.>
