The fireplace cast a warm glow across the furniture as the moonlight filtered through the high window of the warehouse. Shadows danced across the ground with the crackle of the fire, the wind blowing wildly outside.
Despite the general peacefulness of the scene, Arthur knew his life was in danger every moment of the day. In fact, he'd just finished cleaning the blood off of him a few minutes ago, now curled up on the couch and trying unsuccessfully to concentrate on a book.
His nerves were on edge. The wind was howling outside, but he couldn't help but listen for any traces of moans carried with it. If there was one thing Arthur dreaded more than darkness, it was the moans that preceded the living dead.
Still, all alone inside the gigantic warehouse, he couldn't help but feel open and unprotected.
Hopefully, the others would get here soon.

Lithuania knocked on the door, "Hello? Is anyone there?" He hoped that someone would come out to greet him, this place was so spacious...it was a little scary being on his own. It didn't help that the weather outside was less than pleasant.

Aoife made her way down from the small floor above, after unpacking all the things she had brought. Maybe she didn't need all those lucky charms... and the leprechaun teddy bear... but they would be a little comfort for what they were about to endure.
The redhead was relieved to see her brother sitting by the fire. It was always good to see a familiar face, even if they didn't always get along.
"Hey Artie," Aoife began quietly as she took a seat next to him. She was clearly nervous, you could hear it in her voice.

Arthur jumped as he heard his sister's voice, turning around too quickly to be subtle. He hunched back down, though, when he saw his sister.
"Hello." he nodded in greeting, looking at her for any signs of anomaly. Being alone for so long in such a spacious place, surrounded outside by danger with every step made him quite paranoid.
His watch suddenly started ringing, a shrill, high note piercing the silence around them. Arthur stiffened and turned the alarm off. He then took a small breath and got up.
"I thought I heard noise by the door... I'd hate for it to be those pesky zombies again." he stretched, making his shirt ride up a bit, and for a moment, the knives strapped across his waist glinted in the light of the fireplace.

Wy had awoken from her slumber when she heard Ireland unpack her things. It wasn't necessarily that the Irish woman was being loud about it or anything. Instead, it was the mere fact that Leonia hadn't been able to sleep lately and when she did, she woke up almost every other hour. Though, it seemed like everyone was in the same predicament as her.
Curious as to where Aofie was going, Leonia silently followed her and ended up sitting on the stairs watching. She squinted her eyes trying to look at the other figure. The Wyian heard the voices as well, but from the distance she was at, it only sounded like mumbles to her.
The girl crept a bit further down the stairs trying to get into a position where she could see and hear better.
"England..?" Wy knitted her eyebrows, "Hmph, well it's about time he got here".

There weren't many times when America would truly say that he was frightened. When he was younger and heard thunder, yes, he did cry, but didn't all little children? When he entered in his first war as a country, the first musket aimed at him sent his heart racing, but that was completely normal for anyone to fear. However, when labeling his most terrifying situations, he supposed that the zombie outbreak had been on the top of the list, for obvious reasons.
He needed to get to the warehouse, but his mind kept wandering back to those lifeless creatures that would randomly pop up. How could anyone not fear those things? They were probably the most single dreadful thing America had come across, which actually wasn't saying much. His blue eyes looked around him warily as he noticed the warehouse in the distance. Thank God, he breathed. He was even more relieved when he noticed a familiar figure.
"Hey, Lithuania!" he exclaimed, remembering to keep his voice down. He quickly walked the rest of the way, standing next to the brunette nation. "Long time, no see, man!" Snuggling deeper into his jacket, he shot a grin over to Lithuania, hoping his sudden presence didn't surprise his friend.

"Pardon me." England sighed after a bit, handing his book to his sister and listening to his watch beep again a few times before turning it off. "It seems that the security perimeter has been stepped in. I must go verify that the zombies have not gotten in." he shuddered before turning around and heading off towards the door.
As he turned around, though, he spotted Wy, by the ladder, and nodded to her, calling out.
"Did you just wake up? I didn't see nor hear you until now. I'm sorry I wasn't there to greet you when you arrived. I was outside on the scouting tower for the last few days. I must've been sleeping when you got here."
His watch beeped again as a reminder that he had to hurry and he sighed before shutting it off.
"Sorry, I'd love to stay and chitchat, but duty calls. I'll be right back." he winced before lightly jogging up to the warehouse control panel. His eyes quickly went to the screen and he sighed in relief when he noticed the two very human and very much alive figures standing outside. A few seconds later, the code for opening the large doors was entered, and with an ominous creaking noise, the metal doors swung open towards the inside.
England waited until the doors had stopped creaking before looking over the nervous-looking newcomers and smirking at them.
"Hello, America, Lithuania. Welcome to Hell."

Post by [x] Vietnam on Mar 5, 2012 1:47:02 GMT -5
Zombies, the word made Vietnam think of TV shows, movies, horror books, games, but never once had reality come to mind in the past. Yet, that's what she thought of now. The undead terrorizing the world, taking it over one bite at a time while the Nations taking shelter in the warehouse tried to reduce their numbers, succeeding? Maybe, but even after killing ten zombies many more existed, gnashing their rotten teeth and staring with eyes full of hunger, completely mindless beings that use to have a family, a job, kids maybe... It was sad to think about, but that was the reason Vietnam did her best not to think about it. She was a calm and serious nation, thus she did not need to be bothered by things that she could not change, otherwise it would make her weak.
Ordered by her boss to help her fellow nations in decreasing the percentage of zombies, she was prepared to do just that. She wasn't going to hide because she was scared, she'd swallow her fear and get the job over with. Somehow, they had to succeed. Right? Good always prevailed, and this wouldn't be a different story! No, if we all work together everything will turn out fine in the end...[/color] She believed her thoughts would be reality, and maybe in five hundred years, give or take a few, from now everyone would be laughing about this situations. Well, maybe not laughing but you get the point.
Pulling her jacket around her body tighter, Vietnam attempted to keep the chilly air from nipping at her skin, honey-golden eyes scanning the area to make sure nothing was moving toward her that was undead, careful to step over things that may prove hazardous. She had dealt with a few zombies, sticking to her paddle and knife to keep from alerting others of her whereabouts, she may be a nation but against crowding zombies even a nation wouldn't easily win.
At last, her eyes came in contact with the large warehouse, and she couldn't be happier. She was frightened, even if her face did not show it. She was on her own, the soldiers from Vietnam that had dropped her off said she would be on her own until she reached the warehouse, wished her luck, and flew off. But finally, as soon as she reached the warehouse she'd be able to relax if only slightly. And then she saw two figures ahead, and her heart dropped to her stomach, were they zombies? But upon closer inspection, she saw it was only America and Lithuania, fellow nations.
By the time she reached them,l she saw that England had already opened the door. "Good evening." She said politely.

Lithuania turned, startled by the sudden noise of another, if notably louder, Nation. "Ah. Hello America." It was good to have someone he knew rather well in this cold place... Lithuania shivered, the cold wind biting through his clothes. He was about to open his mouth to, hopefully, engage a conversation, but the door to the warehouse clunked open and he was face-to-face with a tired looking England. Lithuania nodded to his greeting, albeit a slightly morbid one. "Hello." It was rather a poor thing to say in this kind of situation...but what else could he say? There was the sound of footsteps behind them and he turned to see, to his great relief, Vietnam. "Good morning." He shivered, the cold winds still persisting in trying to freeze him to the bone

"Oh, Vietnam, you've gotten here, too." England nodded to her as well, then sighed. "Well then, enough dilly-dallying. It is cold out here, not to mention incredibly dangerous. It would not do to have you all spotted from your first hours here." he stepped back to give them space, despite not needing to, and made a sweeping hand motion towards the inside.
"Well, what are you all waiting for? You've got a minute to get inside before I lock the doors again. Who knows, perhaps zombies have already spotted the little light from the inside by now and are heading here as we speak."
And in his head, he prayed to the skies and back that his quip would remain a quip for as long as possible.

Needless to say, America felt quite pleased that he hadn't frightened Lithuania. He felt even more pleased when England opened the door, and then the pleasure just grew when Vietnam appeared behind him (granted, his heart did skip a slight beat at her sudden appearance, but that was only to be expected). Phew. More recognizable countries and not just freaking zombies. He was afraid being by himself, but three of his friends was making standing out here all the more bearable. After all, if he were to die, shouldn't he be in the company of his friends? Argh, shut up, America! he scolded. You're not going to die. Now, turn and greet your fellow countries with a pleasant smile.
However, he came to the conclusion that it would be much easier (and less frightening) to exchange greetings inside rather than standing all vulnerable in plain view (or, rather, since they were zombies, earshot or something). So, he quickly stepped inside, thankful that the warehouse was warm. "Hey," he replied. "Nice to be in Hell. Is that the name of the warehouse, or is it some sort of British humor?" He glanced around, noticing two other countries and shooting a smile at both of them.

"Idiot, it's reality, if you hadn't noticed during your pleasant stroll outside." England huffed, heading back towards the control panel to close the door once all three Nations had stepped well into the warehouse. "Besides, what would you know about British humour? I personally think it would be too complicated for you to comprehend fully in any case."

Lithuania nodded to England's statement, he agreed that not only was it cold outside but incredibly dangerous. So he stepped lightly through the doorway and into the warmth.
He noticed it instantly, although Lithuania was used to cold climates he did like the warmth, the sudden change from whistling winds outside to the...well, snug air and brightly lit warehouse was quite shocking. He was marvelling at his surroundings as he heard America's comment and England's reply, almost wanting to laugh in spite of their situation. It was good that the two were still their old selves.

Ireland glanced over her shoulder when she heard familiar voices and a smile cracked on her face. Without a moment’s hesitation, she jumped off the sofa and rushed over to the door, briefly stopping when she noticed Wy sitting on the steps. Aoife gave the younger girl a smile and wave before continuing to make her way to the others.
“Lithuania, America, Vietnam!” she beamed, relieved to see some familiar faces. As she approached, the redhead pulled the three other nations into a tight hug. “I’m so happy to see you all.”
Eventually, the redhead released her grip on the group and her smile grew into a more relaxed expression.
“I’m also glad I’m not the only girl here,” Aoife chuckled as she gave Vietnam a wink, then looked over her shoulder at the young girl behind them. With a twinkle in her eyes, she beckoned the Wyan over to join them.

Lithuania smiled at the newcomer, well, maybe that was the wrong word, he was the newcomer here and she had been there all along really.
"Hello Ireland." He started slightly at her enthuastic welcome, although it was quite comforting to know that he was not the only one that craved other human presences.
"Ah, hello Wy." He nodded to her as she approached.
There were 6 of them here now...and while that was a measly number considering how many people there were out there...and how many zombies they were up against...it still felt significantly more homely...and it was definatly a nice change.
