Lithuania turned to face the other Nation. "We can start with some simple moves first if you want, or...well...whatever you want to do." He didn't want to offend his new friend.

"No sure, whatever you wanna do, because remember, I'm the amateur here!" Now he was really scared of making a fool of himself. Compared to Lithuania he might as well be swinging a stick around, or a fistful of dirt. He told the other this and added, "I'm fine with you instructing me. B-But don't expect too much, 'cause I don't think I'll learn very fast."
However, he was greatly grateful to him for agreeing to training him. It would not turn out to be a very easy task, no sir.

"Uh....Ok...well, how about we do a little warm up fight? Just...to...I dunno...get a feel for each others styles? I'm sure you won't do badly!" Lithuania cocked his head and smiled at the nervous Nation.
He had never really taught anyone anything before...Except Poland, who really just did his own thing anyway.

[[Sorry for the terribly late reply! I've been swamped with World Scholar's Cup and stuff]]
"Eh, sure, I guess. Hold on, lemme get my dagger out..." He felt slightly encouraged by the warm smile of the Baltic, but his inner fear still got to him. Canada fumbled with the sheath and drew out the gleaming knife, twin edges as sharp as England's wit.
Adopting a rough defensive stance, he glanced up at Lithuania and bit his lip in apprehension and anticipation.

((It's no problem! ^^))
"It's ok. Just relax. That's the secret to it. Not much of a secret. But still haha." He laughed lightly. Hopefully the North American nation was gonna cope ok, he was sure to be fine.

Canada breathed. Ok, here he was, relaxing. The hand that had been trembling before gradually stilled. Deciding to just go for it, he switched the dagger into the knife-fighter position, with the sharp edge facing outwards and sideways. He held out his left hand slightly, to keep his balance and shifted his feet so that he was ready to lunge. "Ok, I'm ready when you are, Lithuania,"

"Ok." Lithuania raised his sword and started towards Canada's right side, swinging his sword upwards, not as fast as he usually would, he didn't want to injure the other badly, but fast enough to produce a swishing sound as it cut through the air. Being right handed meant that with just a dagger Canada would be more awkward blocking if Lithuania came from the right, as opposed to if he went in on the left.

Oh no, oh no, he's coming on this side...actually, I think if I could... Canada considered for a split second and then brought his right foot back behind him to attempt to distance himself from the Baltic. His right hand came in close to his chest, along with the dagger, and he mentally winced at the proximity. Then he bent and lunged out in a wide motion, arcing both his arms and aiming for Lithuania's abdomen with his right hand.

Lithuania faltered slightly as Canada stepped back, but he quickly realised what the other was going to do, which really wasn't the other's fault, it was something called years of experience. He bent down, putting his left hand on his sword as well and bringing that round and above his head, simutaneously to crouching down, as he ran, feeling the jar of metal meeting metal and hearing the loud clang echo across the training grounds.
He slid sideways and hopped backwards pushing the sword against the dagger and using the push strength to fuel the movement. Lithuania stared at Canada, awaiting his next move.

With such a relatively small weapon in comparison to Lithuania's sword, Canada felt the force of contact ringing through his hand and wrist. Already he knew that the difference between them was clear. If only we could go and have a mock gunfight or something, then I might be able to preserve some of my dignity... No, that wasn't right. He blinked once forcefully. They were doing this to practice. Mistakes were allowed, and he was pretty sure that the Baltic wouldn't mind too too much.
That in mind, he drew back his dagger and regarded the other carefully. He had no advantage in experience or weapon-type, so he might have to rely on his other skills...that he may or may not have. Well, for one thing a sword was big and would move slower than a knife, so he had speed on his side. Maybe Canada could try something with that. And to make up for experience...a surprise, maybe?
Tensing his feet, he suddenly rushed the brunette, making as if to duplicate his earlier move. Dagger poised to the right, he moved his arm in a fake strike, jerking it only half-way. Then he quickly dropped down and swept his leg towards Lithuania's feet, intending to 'stab' at the other's throat when he was, hopefully, down.

Lithuania narrowed his eyes, drawing his head back slightly so he could take in all of Canada at once without having to move his line of vision, which was a key giveaway to your opponent. This was obviously something that Canada had never had use for, as his eyes were flicking around as he was probably thinking.
He's coming Lithuania watched as he appeared to be moving for a similar enough strike to earlier It's gotta be a bluff but still, he moved the tip of his sword towards his stomach to deflect the oncoming blow, before swiping it downwards as the other nation careered towards him, hoping to knock the dagger out of his hand, the result was something entirely different. His sword was met with a slight resistance and he realised what Canada had been trying to do.
"Nice one. I didn't see that coming." He said, only slightly out of breath, it had, after all, been quite a while since he'd had a proper fight with a hand-to-hand weapon, nice to see he hadn't lost any of his skills, he'd certainly need them.
Lithuania danced to the side slightly, even more on the defensive than he had been. Canada was fast. That move had been done so quickly that if Liet hadn't planned on trying to disarm Canada by blocking and twisting he would have been tripped up. The other was also taller and probably stronger than Lithuania, although Lithuania probably had the advantage of experience. He'd have to think about this one.

Argh, it didn't work! Of course it didn't. The other was too well-versed in these types of things to fall prey to an amateurish feint like that. However, the praise was enough to make Canada glow for a moment, even though the slight heavy breathing from Lithuania was probably all he would glean from this particular practice round.
Now the Baltic's defense was up. Not much he could do to break a sword defense with a dagger. Instead, he backed up and went into a defensive position of his own again, holding both arms near to his face-chest area, his weapon pointed outwards. He'd try to counterattack rather than leave himself open for one in making the first move.

Lithuania noted and approved of how Canada spent only a fraction of a second gloating over the faint praise, some people would have completely let down their guard at that *cough*Prussia*cough*
He stood and tried to analyse the best attack method, the only thing he had on this guy was experience, although he'd also probably lost more battles as well. Ok...
Lithuania sprinted, flat out, round behind the other nation and swept the sheath of his sword round to the back of Canada's knees, touching them only slightly, before moving back round so he was facing the other's left side.
