Sealand was busy messing up the carefully organized cabinets when Canada spoke the magic words.
"Would you like me to make you something to eat?"
Sealand was suddenly reminded of home cooked meals he'd had, something he had missed in the short hours he had been in the warehouse.
Just imagining plates and plates full of steaming, aromatic sustenance was enough to make his mouth water. Grabbing Canada's hand, the boy stared straight into the taller nations eyes.
"Really?! You could do that?!" The boy started hopping up and down excitedly, yanking on Canada's arm unceremoniously. "Make me something sweet!" He said. He stopped jumping to let his mind fly to a land full of every kind of desert imaginable.
"Thank you, Canadia!" the small nation beamed.

"Alright, but you have to let go of my arm first." said Canada. He knew that they probably shouldn't waste their supplies on desserts, but every once in a while wouldn't hurt, right? He had never raised a child before, so he didn't know how that is was ok to say no.
He looked through the same cabinets that Sealand had been looking through only seconds before and organized the contents. While looking through the cabinets, he found some chocolate hidden in the back. 'Now I wonder who could have hidden this' thought Canada. He had an idea of who would have hidden such a food, but they wouldn't mind if he used just a little, right?
Canada turned towards Sealand and asked "Do you like chocolate chip cookies?" He thought that any child would like cookies, but it was best to make sure.

Japan smiled, touched by her concern. He did not want to worry any of the others into thinking he could not handle the lab work, but he supposed his fatigue was fairly obvious at that point. He was relieved to arrive into an empty hospital, no signs of the other nations' presences making him sigh in relief. However, they still had several other areas to search, including the labs. The lack of Sealand or Canada in the hospital meant they had to be elsewhere...possibly somewhere dangerous. He took a quick peek into the Quarantine area (he doubted even Sealand would be willing to venture in there for the sake of a game), then turned quickly back to Seychelles.
"I believe that we should check the labs next. There are many chemicals that could be very dangerous. While I trust Canada-san's guidance would be enough to keep Sea-kun out of there, I cannot be certain that the two were hiding together. I only hope that neither of them are there and that we can then search on the roof or in the loft areas."
He made his way quickly back through the Common Room to the lab, scanning the room once to see if either of the nations had returned or grown bored of the game. But the room remained the same dull empty as it had been before Sealand and Canada had proposed the game in the first place. He carefully pushed open the door to the lab, his hand trembling against the knob. He frowned at this, realizing his fatigue was only growing worse as the game dragged on. If he did not find them soon, it would be a toss-up between him passing out or, more hurtful to his pride, having to give up the game.
"Ah, what happened here?!" He stopped short in the doorway, staring at the broken glass and the pile of papers in the corner. From the looks of things, it appeared as though someone had tried to look for something in the cupboard in the corner. The cupboard doors were open though, and he could see neither of the nations inside. "Hmm...I see..." He went to retrieve the broom, intending to clean up the mess. "It seems as though one, or both of them were here after all. I can only hope the glass is from an empty test tube. Luckily, it seems as though nothing was damaged...just some files put out of order."
He swept as he spoke, sighing wearily. So the other two had been there, but now they were gone. He turned to Seychelles with an apologetic smile. "I apologize, Seychelles-san, but I really should finish cleaning this so that no one else gets hurt and the files are put back in order. If you do not wish to wait, perhaps you would like to continue the search on your own? I have not yet checked the roof or the loft areas, but they may have returned to the Common Room in our absence."

"Er... Ok I should go find them first." Seychelles said uneasily. Much to how much Seychelles wanted to help Japan keep the place up, she did not want to accidentely break stuff or touch anything that has chemicals, not really sure what was inside. Even though she was a groudskeeper, she heard that no one can clean the lab in case they accidentely misplace some important file. Only senior groudskeeper were allowed inside. "And remember to get some rest!! You look really tired!!" Seychelles shouted from the door of the lab.
She soon made her way back to the common room, thinking that the two countries were there. As soon as she walked into the common room, she heard the sound of an opening drawer in the kitchen. Curious, she took a peak into the kitchen, hoping that they were there.
She was right. Canada and a smaller country, hoping that it was sealand, were talking to each other.
Did they forget that they were playing a game with the poor and tired Japan?
Seychelles walked into the kitchen, arms crossed. "I surppose your forgotten the game you guys were playing with Japan?" Seychelles said unhappily. "Anyway, are you sealand? They country i was surppse to babysit?" Seychelles said, showing her tsundere side.

Canada turned around only to find that another nation had walked inside. "Hello Seychelles. Actually, I did forget we were playing a game. Sealand got hurt inside the lab and we went to go find Japan, but when we looked in the kitchen, Sealand got hungry. I'm sorry."
Canada walked up to Seychelles and asked "Do you know where Japan is?" If Seychelles knew about their game with Japan, then she must know where he was. Then they could tell Japan what happened, he would understand, right? They should probably go back to the lab and clean up the mess. He realized that he wasn't very good with kids. He had never had any practice with kids since he never had any colonies of his own, and he couldn't remember what to do from his days as a colony.

Sealand looked up at the girl - Seychelles, was it? - and saw her disapproving expression. Canada explained their situation, and Sealand remembered that Japan still hadn't found them.
"Yeah, yeah! Where's Japan? He hasn't found us yet!"
He continued to stare at the Seychelles, waiting for an answer. Finally, after and awkward silence, he decided to include her in the plans. "Want some cookies? Canadia's making them!"

Japan smiled as the island nation departed the lab, touched by her concern once more. It seemed that everyone was suddenly looking out for his well-being. Normally, he would have attributed that to some gain on their part, and even though that was partially true still he could tell their concern was genuinely for his health. The only 'profit' any of them stood to gain was survival, and even he could put aside his own opinions of the others (particularly one or two) to achieve this. He could only hope the other nations felt the same, or their rather agreeable arrangements in the warehouse would not last...and they really could not afford to be fighting each other and the undead.
He finished sweeping up the glass, depositing it in a waste receptacle and closing the lid tightly. He still had yet to figure out what they had broken, so before he continued to clean he walked over to the sink to wash his hands. As he touched the knob, he noticed it was not in the same position as when he had left it. He normally would have attributed that to one of the others working on the lab, but with either Sealand or Canada (or both) in the lab recently he guessed that one of them had touched the sink. 'But why would they need the sink? Did the person who broke the vials also wash their hands?'
He pushed the question aside and made his way back to the files. Wearily, he bent to gather them, his limbs protesting and aching with fatigue. Once he had retrieved the last paper from the floor, he took them to the nearest table and spread them out. He stared at the pages, momentarily zoning out in his tiredness while trying to will the files back in order with his mind. Sighing softly, he began to reorder them, pausing to read over each one for a few moments before his mind properly processed where it belonged. The sorting felt endless, though his stubbornness would not allow him to leave it until later.
'I will not be able to function at this rate forever...and I hope that I will not have to for much longer.' He dared not voice such thoughts aloud, knowing the others were working just as hard. He especially wished not to worry England, who took all of the responsibility for their triumphs and failings onto his shoulders (whether it was wanted or not) and made every effort to keep the world from falling apart around them. He feared that if he, the stoic nation came to England with his troubles, the blond might try to make it better. Japan could imagine England trying to gather more scientists, or even taking on the work himself just because he felt responsible and guilty. 'He has not changed much in that respect, I suppose.'[/i]
He continued to sort through the files, feeling his age with every new page returned to its proper place. 'I will resume my search for the others once I have completed this. Then I will go and rest.'

Seychelles let out a sigh. How could the older country forget the game? "He is cleaning up the mess we found in the lab. Any guess who was the culprit?" she said as she looked at the two nations. "Or were?"
She could have guessed that it was both of them, but as a person who doesnt want to jump into conclusions, she kept it to look like she had no idea who did the mess.
Seychelles looked at the little nation. The first thing that went through her mind was "OMG!!! HE IS SO CUTE!!". It practically screamed in her head. Keeping silent, Seychelles smiled and bend down to Sealand's height. "Right after your guys tell Japan what happen, I will definetely allow you to eat them." Seychelles was worried for Japan's health. She could tell that Japan had not been able to sleep and was working very hard on finding whatever he was finding.
"Japan has been very tired these days, please don go bother him anymore, ok?" Seychelles said, trying to make herself a little gentle with the young nation. That was what she was taught.ยก

Canada would have hit his head repeatedly against the wall if he had been alone. How could he have been so stupid? How could he have forgotten to clean up the mess. He felt like an idiot, he hoped that Japan could forgive him at least. He had learned his lesson, never play hide and seek with Sealand inside the lab. "I'm so sorry Seychelles, I had forgotten about the mess. I should go help Japan. Sorry Sealand, I will have to make the cookies later."
Canada put the chocolate that was in his hand back into the cabinets. Hopefully, no one would eat it before he got back. He started to walk out the door, trying to remember the way to the lab.

Suddenly, Sealand was aware of the atmosphere. It was tense, and it was sitting on a room like a fog. But it wasn't angry, it was...concerned. It was worried. He saw Seychelles trying to suck back her emotion and a crease appear on Canada's forehead.
Um...what?
Wait a second. He knew something was wrong with Japan. But it was just a slight gesture in the back of his mind. He was usually much more calm.
I didn't do anything wrong, right?
"Um, me and Canadia broke the glass in the lab, but then we came down here to make cookies." He watched as Canada started putting the ingredients back in the cupboards. "No cookies?"
Not knowing what else to do, he followed Canada out the door, not understanding the situation at all.

Canada started to walk down the hall towards the lab, when he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Sealand following behind him. "You don't have to come with me Sealand, you can wait in the kitchen with Seychelles." He didn't want Sealand to get hurt again. He knew now that he couldn't handle children very well, especially when they were hurt.
He continued to walk to the lab. When he got there, he peeked his head inside the doorway and asked "Japan? Are you in here?" Hopefully the older nation hadn't gotten hurt or passed out while inside all alone.

Japan started, sitting straight up as he heard a voice calling his name. 'Did I fall asleep just now? I recall being in the middle of sorting the files, but not once do I recall closing my eyes. I also do not recall dreaming, though that is not necessarily an indication that I did not sleep. Still, I cannot imagine who is calling me at this time. Was I in the middle of something before this? Did I neglect doing something important?' He shook his head a few times to clear it, blinking rapidly to try to push the sleep from his eyes. He guessed that he had just dozed off only moments before the other nation had called to him, though dozing off at all meant he was beyond fatigued.
He stood quickly and faced the door, just in time to catch Canada peeking in. Had the other nation seen him dozing? "Ah, Canada-san, it is good to see you. I apologize for abandoning the game, but I found that there was a mess in the lab and I wanted to clean it up before anyone got hurt. Are you and Sealand-kun uninjured?" He glanced around, though he could not see anyone behind Canada with the door still mostly closed. "I have also lost Seychelles-san. She claimed to be Canada-san's babysitter. Have you by any chance run into her, Canada-san?"
As he spoke he tugged on his clothing, trying to straighten them and also to keep moving. He feared that even talking to a nation now wouldn't distract his body entirely from sleep. Dozing off had been a mistake; now his body wanted nothing more than to sleep wherever it could, even if the place happened to be right in the middle of the lab on the hard, unforgiving floor. He kept his gaze locked on Canada, hoping the nation would not notice the sleep still lingering around his eyes.

Canada opened the door a little wider and stepped inside the lab. He was glad that Japan was inside, now he didn't have to search the whole warehouse for him. He felt really bad that Japan had to clean up the mess all by himself since Sealand and himself were the ones who had made the mess. "That's ok, I don't think anyone is playing anymore. I'm sorry about the mess, I completely forgot it was there. Sealand cut his finger on the glass and we went to find a bandage. It was nothing really, just a small cut. Seychelles is in the kitchen with Sealand."
"Do you need help cleaning up the mess?" asked Canada while steping closer. Japan looked so tired right now, it didn't seem fair that he had to clean up all by himself. Sometimes Japan was a little too nice, Canada had to at least help sweep the floor or something. Even if he didn't feel so guilty, he would still want to help Japan.

Japan gave the other nation a small, rare smile, relieved to hear that Seychelles had at last found her charge. He felt even more gratitude to Canada, glad that the other nation had been able to handle the miniature crisis. "Ah, I see. I am glad that Seychelles-san has found Sealand-kun. And as for the mess, it is taken care of." He turned and looked out over the new clean lab, the slightly shuffled files the only things remaining to be sorted. "Please do not worry, Canada-san. I thank you for your kind offer to help. The lab is rather meticulously kept, and I would not wish to trouble you with our methods of keeping things." He knew Canada could handle being instructed, but cleaning had gone smoothly enough.
He was more concerned about the cut Sealand had received while hiding. The wound sounded minor, but Japan was not entirely certain of which test tube had been broken during their game. He frowned, too fatigued to bother to hide his worry. A scientist or a medic would need to examine Sealand, just to be on the safe side. He inwardly felt that the duty would inevitably fall to him, since he knew the most about what had transpired during their game. Admittedly, he did not know that much at all, which caused his anxieties over the situation to increase. Canada had mentioned washing out the wound, but that only meant that Sealand's chances of being infected by an unknown substance were lessened.
He turned his attention to Canada once more, trying to frown less. The last thing he wanted the other nation to think was that he was upset with him. "Canada-san...I believe that I will need to make sure that Sealand-kun was not harmed by any of the substances in the lab. There are many chemicals we use, as well as many petri dishes with microscopic organisms or blood samples. While it is probably nothing, it is best that I check in case there was something on the glass. I do not wish to cause you or Sealand-kun worry, but if something was there he may become sick. It is always best to prevent these things early on. If you would prefer, you may take Sealand-kun to the hospital wing for a medic to examine him." He offered the last bit out of politeness, in case neither Canada nor Sealand felt he could properly check them like a medic could.

"Ok, I understand. Do you want me to bring Sealand in here? Or should we go to the kitchen?" asked Canada. He had been worried about Sealand's cut as well, but there was nothing much he could do. He wasn't a medic, or a scientist, so he wouldn't know if the cut was infected or not. He had done the best he could do, which was cleaning the wound and putting a bandage on it.
He hoped that Sealand wouldn't resist getting his cut checked. It was on his finger anyway, so it wasn't like he had to get undressed or anything. Besides, Japan wasn't scary or intimidating, at least not most of the time. Sealand shouldn't have a problem.
"I don't know much about medicane, but I can help you if you need any." He didn't think that Japan woud need any help, but just in case he did, he wanted the older nation to know that he would be willing to help. It would be the least he could do for all the trouble they put had Japan through.
