Canada had been wandering around the grounds for a while now, just now realizing that it wasn't the best idea in the world. He had wanted to see where he would be living for a long time, and maybe to meet some new friends? Suddenly, Canada heard some noises near him and looked around nervously, wondering if it was zombies. He clutched kumojiro tighter to his chest and ran towards the closest building, which just so happened to be the training grounds.
Breatheing heavily from his mad dash to safety, Canada noticed that the noises he had heard were coming from inside. Could it be that someone was training? Carefully walking towards the center, Canada noticed that England and another asian country were in the middle of a fight. After closer inspection, he noticed that the asian country had been South Korea. Canada was very thankful that North Korea wasn't here, he was so scary.
Not wanting to get in the way, but still curious about their fight, Canada stood a little ways off, against one of the walls. He had decided to watch their fight, maybe he could learn something useful? Canada had never really been taught to fight before, and what better way to learn then by watching one of the best?

A cricket-y stump of wood crackled under someone's foot. After that coiling of cracking the rest of the sound was smooth as a figure tiptoed off. His whole fall had sent his insides tumbling. I guess that's what happened when you let go of ten feet high monkey bars only to land on a stump.
It hadn't looked rotten.
It was still raw material, though and kind of useful for a fire. China bent down and scooped the splinters into his cradling arms, humming some tune with a whole lot of vibrato.
He nearly stepped past, completely blind to the fact that he was there.
Big mistake, this guy knew the lay of the land and had resources like China couldn't dream of.
"Canada, is that you, aru?" He asked abashed and wide eyed, "I thought you left for the north to live with the In-uit," he had a hard time pronouncing. "What are you doing in a fighting ground, aru?"

Canada looked at China, thinking it was glad to have someone notice him for a change. Canada quickly replied "Oh, well I was just watching Iggy..I-I mean England" Canada quickly pulled kumojiro up to cover mouth and his nonsense along with it.
No one knew that Canada had secretly made a pet name for England. He didn't want to give China the wrong impression after he had just returned to help with the zombie ivasion. Clutching kumojiro to his chest again, and mustering all the courage he owned, Canada tried again "I-I meant I was watching England fight so that I could be as good as him" Why was he telling China this? China had his own problems to worry about.
Canada quickly dropped his gaze so that he was staring at his boots instead of the wise eyes of China. He could never be as smart as China, even if he had lived as long as China. Canada wished that he hadn't said so much.

He took little time to process that, if no time at all and broke into a smile. Although the boy had scruples about England and his ways, he wasn't paranoid about Canada, in fact he found his presence pleasurable because it was like Hong Kong on the other side of the sea.
His awkwardness was positively met as China let the chips fall, quite literally, in a pile near a post before coming back with a stretch.
"You're trying to learn from England by watching him?" He repeated in a yawn, he cracked his back, "it's much better to learn by doing ... How much do you know about hand to hand combat, aru?" He asked with a bob of his head.

Once Canada had seen China smile, he felt much better and put on a smile as well. He no longer regretted what he had said, although after a little thought, it was rather foolish of him to give what was basically his father a pet name.
After China had set down a pile of wood he had been carrying and came back, he asked the very question he had been secretly wishing he wouldn't. He knew positively nothing about hand to hand combat, or any kind of combat for that matter. Of course the older nation was right, as was usually the case. Canada would never learn to fight by simply watching England, especially with the moves he was using now.
Canada thought he might as well just tell China the truth, even though he would never lie to another nation, but he wouldn't give up the posibility of not answering. Finally Canada answered "Well to be honest, I really don't know anything about hand to hand combat." Looking back up at China to meet his brown eyes.

This didn't surprise him in the least. China raised his hands as if he was about to mow him down but it was only to quickly put his hand near his shoulder (not touching) and look at his stance. He hated thinking it, but Canada's way of standing rippled self esteem issues. It was slightly slouched (no good for strength exercises, never mind a full blown teeth attack at his throat) and it wasn't at all structured. He was looking weak beyond reason which wouldn't be a problem if he wasn't completely alone to defend himself.
"Your standing is no good, aru," he almost said it was the standing of a loser but 'loser' wasn't as a strong word for Canada and it was taken as 'nerd' in comparison. For China it meant someone who couldn't prevail in strength, spiritually, mentally, physically. It was a real insult. That's why he shot it down before sprouting it.
This question was bound to come, but China, instead of asking it cut to the chase.
"I want you to put your feet together and stand up strait like you mean it, aru."

Listening to the wiser nation, Canada put his feet together and straightened himself up. Almost as if he was trying to make himself look taller. Suddenly thinking about kumojiro, Canada quickly placed him against the nearest wall. Then he replaced his feet and stood up straight again. He knew for a fact that Kumojiro wouldn't help at all during a zombie attack.
Seeking the wiser nation's approval, Canada used his right hand to give China a salute and said "Is this better?" He desperately wanted to be stronger just like England and his brother. He didn't want to be weak anymore, but it was hard to live in the shadow of America. It was also true that Canada liked it when someone ever praised his actions, however rare they were.
Maybe this way, everyone would finally notice him.

He surveilled him without ever crossing his arms, he needed not to look superior in the normal fashion. Like an animal, China could tell he was glistening in sweat. Did he have an irrational phobia of China?
"Good," the ponytailed boy said, "now fist your hands and place them in front of you, outstretched," he said raising his chin and demonstrating. Then he kept his fist clenched and pulled them towards him, his shoulder blades drawing together as he did. "Don't slouch and don't lean forward of back like you have a thorn at your side, aru," he ordered. "You have to stand strong, like a bull or a horse, lying down is not an option for that kind of animal."
Unless you were a pregnant horse which would make this all the more deceiving.
Despite his high-maintenance nature, there was nothing cold or devilish about how China treated him. He wanted him to learn, he wanted him to do well and wasn't interested in even being disappointed because just being on the planet was enough to gain's one honest respect.
"Your weakness of being un-threatening used to be your strongest attribute, but they will rip you to shreds, like they already have," he said sadly, "you need to be ready enough to know how to throw them off. I will teach you how to throw a person, aru, but you must promise to never," he glared, "let it get to your head, aru."

Canada listened to China's directions and outstretched his hands directly in front of him. Clenching his hands together in rather weak fists, He followed China's lead and pulled his fists back towards his chest. He was told to "stand strong". Ok, he could do this. Canada tried to stand up straight, but when he tried, he ended up being as stiff as a board. This also make him very unsteady, even a little push would make him topple to the ground. Realizing his mistake, Canada tried to calm down and let out a deep breath. He could be the horse, since he wasn't to familiar with bulls.
China continued to say that being weak was no longer an option. Canada nodded his head at China's words. He had know for a while now that being weak hadn't helped him very much, this was his chance to start over. Then China said something about throwing a person. Canada was terrified for a moment of China, could he really throw a whole person? Canada quickly scolded himself for thinking such a thing, Nations were stronger than normal humans. Also China had been alive for a long time, he had probably been training to fight for most of that time. There was no need to be scared of China, he was only trying to help.
China had offered to teach him to throw a person, as long as he wouldn't let it get to his head. Canada quickly answered "I promise" with a determined look in his eyes. He would finally be able to defend himself, besides why would he want to throw another nation? Sure some of the time they had angered him with not being able to see him, but he would never want to hurt him. He had only ever occasionally scolded his brother, and he had deserved it. He loved his brother too much to hurt him, and he would never have enough courage to confront another nation.
Suddenly, Canada realized that HE would probably be used to demonstrate the maneuver. Canada was not looking forward to being thrown into the air.

Symbolically, China rubbed his slight chin, mellowed by Canada's competence. Deep inside, his emotions where kept in line to being understanding and teaching but like un-like Japan, his mask was not that of a military trained liar, keeping everything tucked away.
When China felt or thought something, it was readable like polished glass. He spoke it quickly and had it done with because it was only right to keep his mind pure of misgivings.
"Hmm, I'll have to change this up a bit, aru," he said ruefully happy, "Another thing to put into consideration is that Zombies think food before movement. They don't want to beat you, they only want to eat. You are going to have to help me develop this as we go."
Despite his fear, China was small and un-foreboding, he even tried to usher him on with good nature.
Moveing fluidly, China tapped his foot and stood beside him with the same squat except but with richer firmness. He would not be knocked down by pebble or boulder. It was the sumo wrestler stance, although without the pounds. Both bandaged and slippered feet were parallel to each other, firmly gritted into the stone but bouncy, as if ready to move quickly and steadily out of their ditch.
The legs were about twice shoulders width apart and the knees bended until the thighs were parallel with the ground. Also, the knees were not to go past the toes.
"Now," he twisted his body so one foot--still there--was now considered ahead of him, and the other just kept him in ease. The front one pointed to his now frontward, "we're changing from 'Horse stance' to learn turning. The Horse Stance strengthens the legs, strengthens the spine, increases willpower and centres the mind and body with the ground."
He stood up strait and put his hands on his hips.
"I know, just standing like some sumo wrestler won't do you any good. It will just make it harder to take a walk in the park but you must listen to me. Hear me out that the horse stance is key to Shoalin Kung Fu. It means you are ready, you are in balance and you don't want to tip. Just standing feels good in your muscles."
He stood back into position.
"Your behind must be tucked in, your neck too. You shoulders relaxed, make your stance lower and increase the time you stay in the stance. Don't allow yourself to rise higher. Even though you are not moving you will start to sweat. It is called static stamina."
He breathed softly, his chest rising and falling.

((I love how we have taken over this thread! ;D ))
Canada looked at China and listening closely to all that he had to say before replying a simple "Ok". He had already managed to read a little about zombies, but he never realized that the only thing zombies ever though about was their next meal. Didn't they ever wonder why some objects moved and others stood still? Of course they didn't have any brains, so that would explain why they didn't think.
China continued to say that they would be learning a new stance. Ok, he could this. Following China's movements, he mimicked the older nation's stance. However, Canada was extremely unsteady, and fell onto his back after only a few moments. Blushing a deep red while quickly muttering "Sorry", Canada got back up and tried again. He was more steady this time, and succeeded in standing up for more than a few seconds. He didn't know what China had meant by static stamina, how could someone sweat by just standing up? Of course after standing in this position for a while, he finally understood. His legs were killing him, and his shoulders ached from standing up so straight.
Noticing that China was breathing softly, he tried to breathe softly as well. Maybe this would help him keep his mind off of the pain.

((Where did everybody go? *says shyly*))
Over his many years of teaching, this was one subject he found hard to develop for because for all the teaching it would not take affect if Canada didn't actually have the physical strength and hard won build to work for him.
"To be strong like England you must work continuously to make yourself stronger, that means push ups and sit ups and everything from forty meter runs to climbing the Alps," China said now balanced on one foot, his knee in close proximity to his chest as if it was blocking his beating heart. His foot hung lose while the other leg held him like a stork, "There is no perfection without trial. To learn something properly you have to know how to teach it back," China opened his ember eyes, "I cannot do this for you. There is as much beauty and art as there is violence to be learned. This stance I am doing is good for hard kicks. The foot suspended blocks your vital regions as well as being ready in case someone trips you so you can easily stand again by using the other. Normally I would teach a certain kind of kick that is taught to the Chinese police. It is a high kick that brakes in the jugular for instant... human death. This will not work on zombies," he said apologetically, "they need to be decapitated, crushing their air supply will gain nothing."
He trotted away and said, "As weak as you are, you are mentally capable and need self defense, not police offense to win a fight." They had guns, didn't they? A whole stockpile of proved military weapons. In fact, they had enough to double every militia in the world.
"Just, come at me with a punch, aru~!" The sun was basking from the high window panes. He explained nothing more.

Canada agreed with China, he needed to get stronger. The only way to do this was to train but, climb the alps?!? Weren't those in Europe? That probably wasn't the point, besides they had plenty of mountains around here. Canada had been hiking before, in fact he had climbed the nearby mountain of Mont Tremblant. Of course it wasn't to diffiult, even for a beginner. Canada mentally shook himself, he had to focus.
Canada continued to listen to the older nation's wisdom, nodding his head every so often to show that he agreed and was still listening. Of course it would make sense to learn something enough to teach it to another. If he was correct, they also had this concept in America's schools. It was a very handy because students were eager to share their knowledge with one another, it gave them a sense of pride.
Canada continued to listen with growing interest and wait a second, did the Chinese police really know how to kill a person with one kick? They must be very strong humans indeed. Of course, Canada's police usually used guns, specifically pistols, to scare the criminals, only when it was absolutely nessasary did they shoot. Canada had learned to use a gun at an early age not for self defense, although it would come in handy, but for hunting animals. Before France and England changed his economy, most of his people traded furs. Canada was very proud of his aim with a gun, one of the few things he was just as good at as America, arguably better.
China trotted away a fair distance and told Canada to come at him. Canada didn't know how to punch! True he had see a punch being thrown before, but never had he attempted to thrown his own. He couldn't give up now, he was determined to learn. Realizing that he was still in the sumo wrestler's stance, Canada stood up, wondering how he had managed to forget. Canada couldn't hurt China after all he had done for him, so he shouted "A p-punch? Are you s-sure?". Of course since his regular voice was so quite, his shout sounded like a nation's regular voice.

China rolled his eyes dramatically, "I'll teach you to block. If you're so scared, I can do it in slow motion later," he stood firmly, his slippered feet shoulder with and his arms at his sides. He was obviously ready for an incoming attack but he looked so very lazy. China was standing like he'd just chowed down at a five dollar buffet restaurant, seafood special. Now he was reduced to a sea slug.
"I won't hurt you so don't be afraid of hurting me. Give it your best or your worst, I don't care, aru."
His tone, in comparison to Canada's last was like that of a bossy woman, a mere girl because his voice was high. He wasn't that womanly, in fact he was very masculine in most ways but one glimpse at the idea made it contrasting to ask for a punch.
What was he expecting, a slap in the faces from a manicured hand? China was not a girl, but it sent a double take, quite clearly. You don't give a girl a one two in the stomach.
"Aiyah! Aren't you hungry, let's get this over with! Come with a punch already! America would!" That had to hit the spot.

Canada was a little wary of China, but he wasn't scared anymore. He knew enough now to know that China wouldn't purposely hurt him. Still he didn't want to hurt China after he had been so nice, even if China had been mean he still wouldn't want to hurt him. Canada would never hurt a fly, he hated conflicts and war. He also didn't know his own strengh, what if China ended up really hurt? At least, this was true before China had egged him on.
China's last words hit him hard in the chest "America would!" rang out in his head like church bells on a sunday morning, or whenever you went to church actually. China had hit a soft spot there, a very soft spot. Canada loved his brother, but being weak wasn't an option anymore. China was right, America would, and so would Canada.
Without a second thought, Canada ran full speed toward China. His right hand already clenched in a fist, pulled back and ready to be thrown. As he approached China, he remembered countless times where America had been in a fist fight, he had aimed straight for the nose. So Canada aimed for this spot as well.
